The training aims to give women confidence and skills to take on leadership roles and reinforce existing leadership roles that they have. By the end of this training, women should:

  • Have a better understanding of different models and theories of leadership

  • Have practiced and received feedback on their own leadership style

  • Be aware of their own strengths as a leader and areas for action

  • Have explored blocks and barriers to taking on leadership roles

  • Understand issues of power and their impact on women leading

The training will be facilitated by Fran Loots and Karen Darke.

Why women only?

Women are underrepresented in almost every area of decision making. Reasons are complex but amongst the issues highlighted in research articles is that women lack confidence in themselves and are unhappy dealing with power. Training has a role to play in increasing confidence and providing opportunities to explore approaches outside the workplace.
